From our main office outside of Chiang Mai city in Northern Thailand, our goal is to reach out through education and gospel ministry to all social and ethnic groups in the region. Our foundation is dedicated to taking the gospel to those who have never heard it before.
What We Do
We provide the opportunity of a Christian education to thousands of students who otherwise wouldn’t have this blessing. In some areas, such as refugee camps and other places along the Thai/Myanmar border, we operate schools that serve communities that would otherwise not have access to Christian education (in several places, they would otherwise have no access to education whatsoever). In Thailand, where Adventist schools have already been established, we provide a sponsorship program and dormitories for young students whose families are unable to pay their children’s educational expenses.
Beside the primary and secondary educational programs, we have annual or semiannual Bible evangelism and medical missionary training where we teach pastors, lay Bible workers, and lay church members the fundamentals of the Bible, and how to put those teachings into practice in their ministry.
How We Started
Education Opportunity Foundation, (originally, Education Opportunity Program) was founded by Pastor Phamor Phoopichitprai more than 40 years ago. Pastor Phamor is a Karen pastor who as a young man wandered away from God. After rededicating his life to God, the Seventh-Day Adventist church sent him to plant churches in an unentered area in Thailand. Until his retirement, he served God as a church planter, pastor, and as the ministerial director for the Thailand Adventist Mission in addition to founding and leading the Education Opportunity Program (the precursor to the Education Opportunity Foundation). After his retirement, he took up the EOF education ministry full time.
